Aston Shows off New Lagonda Saloon
Previously, pictures of the car were released on Oman Air’s website, the cargo division of which was responsible for shipping the car to Oman for hot-weather testing. Official shots of the car now show it undergoing part of its sign-off process, a close-to-production model undergoing trials on the road in Oman.
It’s expected that the car will cover 14,000 miles in its four-week testing period, in temperatures ranging from 30deg C to 50deg C.The car’s styling cues come from the V8-engined Lagonda saloon that was launched in 1976 and designed by William Towns. It is based on Aston Martin’s VH architecture but is more than half a metre longer than the Rapide, with increased rear cabin and boot space. Technical details have yet to be confirmed.
